The sound of Burns filled the Parliament’s Garden Lobby as the ten finalists of the Burnsong song contest play a showcase concert hosted by the Presiding Officer, Alex Fergusson MSP.
Roberto Cassani from Scone is pictured performing his song “Put Good Knickers On And Go Into Town”.
Roberto Cassani, Scots-Italian songwriter, one of the ten finalists in the Burnsong competition and week-long workshop said:
“I never thought my genre would fit into the Burns remit, but the judges said they saw a cheeky side to my writing.” Married to a Scot, the Scots-Italian with matching accent added: “It’s been absolutely amazing to perform at the Scottish Parliament on St Andrew’s Day – you can’t feel anymore Scottish than that.”
